Job summary

Elwood Staffing is seeking an Equipment Operator in Reading/Wyomissing, PA to safely operate material handling equipment and support inbound/outbound shipments. The role is 2nd shift, Monday–Friday, 2:00pm–10:30pm, with initial training on 1st shift. Temp-to-hire with competitive benefits and weekly pay.

You will contribute to inventory accuracy, unloading deliveries, loading railcars, and learning baler operation and routine maintenance of equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating sit-down forklifts.
• Able to perform physical tasks in an industrial environment.
• Background check and pre-employment drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Safely and proficiently operate a diverse range of material handling equipment on-site.
• Unloading and receiving of all Over-The-Road (OTR) deliveries as directed by supervision.
• Monitor and facilitate the loading process of final product railcars, including documentation.
• Assist in inventory control activities, including cycle counting to maintain accurate records.
• Demonstrate willingness to learn baler operation and routine maintenance of processing equipment.

Equipment Operator Details:

• Temp-to-Hire position
• $22.00 /hour
• Full Time work available
• Second Shift (Monday through Friday from 02:00pm to 10:30pm)

• 2nd Shift – Monday to Friday 2:00pm-10:30pm - $22.00/hr
• The initial two weeks of employment will require training on a 1st shift schedule.
• Safely and proficiently operate a diverse range of material handling equipment on-site.
• Execute the unloading and receiving of all Over-The-Road (OTR) deliveries as directed by supervision.
• Monitor and facilitate the loading process of final product railcars, including the accurate completion of all required documentation.
• Assist in inventory control activities, performing tasks such as cycle counting to ensure precise inventory records.
• Demonstrate a strong willingness and ability to learn the operation of the baler.
• Commit to learning the operation and routine maintenance of all processing equipment within the facility.

Equipment Operator Qualifications:

• Ability to learn quickly and safely operate various types of industrial equipment.
• Capable of performing physical tasks, including standing, walking, lifting, and operating equipment for extended periods in an industrial environment.
• Experience operating sit-down forklifts.
• Previous experience as a Material Handler.
