Job summary

Synagro is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to perform project work using trucks and heavy/agricultural equipment, including front end loaders and dredges. You will handle loading/unloading, delivery, daily inspections, and basic maintenance while representing the company with customers.

You should have a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license, with 2–3 years of driving or equipment experience preferred. Overtime is required; local travel may occur.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Drivers’ License.
• Minimum 2 years of project work experience preferred.
• Minimum 3 years commercial driving/heavy or agricultural equipment experience preferred.
• Safe driving record: No serious tickets or accidents in last 5 years or DWI/DUI in last 10 years.

Responsibilities

• Operate truck/equipment in a safe manner at all times.
• Perform loading, unloading, and timely delivery of material to assigned/approved destination.
• May involve local travel to other jobsites or offices.
• Serve as a brand advocate and ambassador in every interaction with clients and the public.
• Conduct daily inspections and perform preventative maintenance on the truck/equipment.
• Perform shop clean up, maintenance, and equipment/tools setup.
• Maintain operation records.
• Be able to work as a team to ensure facility runs smoothly and safely.

Job Summary

Perform various project work which requires safely operating vehicles and a variety of heavy/agricultural equipment that may include, but not limited to front end loader, belt press and dredge.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

• The worker is subject to confined spaces
• The worker is subject to outside environmental conditions: No effective protection from weather

• The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, and exposure to high heat
• This position requires overtime

Hourly Rate $25.00-27.00 an hour, based on experience.
