Job summary

ReaderLink is seeking an Equipment Operator to join our warehouse team in Denton, TX. This role runs Monday–Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with occasional Saturdays and overtime opportunities.

Compensation starts at $18.00 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package and a focus on safe, efficient handling of books and materials in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience operating warehouse equipment is required.

Qualifications

• Prior equipment operating experience required.
• Must be able to stand up to 8 hours in a day and walk up to an hour.
• Must have no fear of heights.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily equipment inspections and report mechanical issues.
• Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
• Stack and store merchandise in designated areas.
• Pull and prepare product for picking and shipping.
• Operate RF scanner the majority of the time.
• Follow safety rules to maintain personal and coworker safety.

Qualified candidates will receive books and products from the publishers, comparing the bill of lading to the product delivered, accurately counts and measure product and enter information into the computerized inventory system.

What You Will Do

• Conduct daily equipment inspections and immediate report mechanical issues to maintenance.
• Maintain the equipment battery by checking water levels and connecting to charging station.
• Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
• Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas.
• Pull and prepare product for picking and shipping ensuring the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
• Move levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
• Position forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials and transports load to designated area.
• Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained.
• Load or unload product onto or off pallets, skids or lifting devices.
• Move materials from storage of work sites to designated area.
• Operate RF scanner 90% of the time
• Follow safety rules to maintain personal safety and the safety of others; including a clean and safe work area.
• Operate equipment in a manner that is compliant with OSHA Standards.
• Stock new boxes by box size on the pullers side of the line.

To Be Considered, Candidates Must Have

• Prior equipment operating experience required
• Must be able to stand up to 8 hours in a day and walk up to an hour.
• Must have no fear of heights.
• Will occasionally climb and push/pull from 11-25 pounds.
• Will frequently bend, stoop, reach up and out, crouch, kneel, and push/pull from 36-50 pounds.
• Will frequently carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally carry up to 50 pounds.
• Will frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
• Will occasionally have repetitive foot movement.
• Will frequently have repetitive hand/arm movements for simple reaching, simple and firm grasping and/or fine hand manipulation.
• Specific vision ability required which includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• Regularly required to stand; use hand to finger, handle or feel objects; and reach with hands and arms.
• Must be able to wear gloves occasionally.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to speak effectively with customers and employees of the organization.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as, area circumference and volume.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The work performed is in a warehouse environment

The employee is frequently exposed to vibrations and dust and will be working around moving machinery

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate at low decibels

Must be able to work in a fast‑paced, team environment
