This position operates loaders and other equipment to move, stockpile, and feed aggregate materials while also performing hands-on plant duties to support production, maintenance, housekeeping, and material flow. The Equipment Operator performs routine equipment and plant inspections, assists with maintenance and repairs, and works collaboratively with plant personnel to maintain safe, continuous, and efficient asphalt production.

  • Committed to serve. Feed aggregate materials into plant bins, hoppers, conveyors, and other processing equipment to support continuous asphalt production and prevent interruptions in material supply.
  • Results matter. Perform ground-person duties throughout the asphalt plant, including monitoring material flow, clearing material buildup, cleaning around conveyors and production equipment, maintaining work areas, and assisting with other hands-on plant operations as needed.
  • Perform pre-operational and post-operational inspections of loaders and other assigned equipment and document findings to ensure equipment readiness and compliance with safety standards.
  • Ownership and caring. Inspect plant and mobile equipment for potential issues and identify, report, and assist in resolving equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, material blockages, and other operational concerns to minimize downtime.
  • Measurement. Monitor stockpiles, aggregate supply, material flow, and plant operating conditions and adjust work activities as necessary to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
  • Obligated. Support plant housekeeping by maintaining clean and organized production areas, roadways, stockpiles, conveyors, equipment areas, and other workspaces. Perform shoveling, sweeping, and material cleanup as necessary.
  • Safety. Follow established traffic patterns, lockout/tagout procedures, plant procedures, and safe operating practices while working around mobile equipment, conveyors, hot materials, and other asphalt plant operations.
  • Humility. Assist maintenance personnel with plant and equipment servicing, repairs, inspections, and scheduled shutdown activities as needed.
  • Results matter. Complete required production, equipment inspection, maintenance, and operational records accurately and timely.
  • Protect family and friends. Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives and communicate hazards, equipment concerns, and operational issues to appropriate plant personnel.
