Job summary

Clean Harbors in Braintree, MA is seeking an Equipment Operator to operate an Excavator and Backhoe on the 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 3 pm-11 pm) with potential OT. Pay starts at $30 per hour on DOE, plus $1.75 for SD pay, with a pay range shown as $14.90-$34.62 hourly.

Responsibilities include operating yellow iron equipment safely, performing daily inspections, maintaining a clean site, and complying with OSHA standards while supporting waste management operations.

Qualifications

• Experience operating excavators, backhoes and/or roll-off trucks.
• Able to operate yellow iron equipment (backhoe, excavator, front end loader).
• Minimal computer skills.
• Forklift experience.
• Housekeeping.
• Wearing PPE.
• Available to join the snow team in the cold months.
• Must be clean shaven (mustache okay).
• 1+ years' experience operating an excavator, backhoe and/or roll-off truck.
• Previous industrial labor experience considered an asset.

• Works closely with site supervisors and crew members.
• Maintains a clean and organized job site.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
• Operates backhoes and roll-off trucks, Forklifts;
• Operate excavators and backhoes safely and efficiently
• Assists with moving drums as necessary;
• Assures unit is never operated in an unsafe manner or in a manner which is inconsistent with Standard Operating Procedures;
• Complete and submits all associated paperwork as required for waste tracking.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
• Follow all safety procedures and OSHA regulations
• Work closely with site supervisors and crew members
• Maintain a clean and organized job site

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

• Able to operate yellow iron (backhoe, excavator, front end loader)

• Forklift work
• Housekeeping
• Wearing PPE
• Available to join the snow team in the cold months.
• (Side note must be clean shaven - mustache okay)
• 1+ years' experience in operating an excavator, backhoe and/or roll-off truck.
• Previous industrial labor experience considered an asset.
