Job summary

The National Sports Center in Blaine, MN is seeking a part-time Grounds Maintenance Assistant for the 2026 outdoor season. You will help set up an 18-hole golf course and 50+ athletic fields and campus grounds, ensuring safety and high-quality turf.

Responsibilities include mowing, irrigation help, seeding, mulching, and field prep for events. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 pounds, work weekends or evenings as needed, and follow safety practices.

• -Assist in marking and painting various athletic fields.
• -Responsible for mulching, weeding, and pruning landscape beds, shrubs, and trees.
• -Responsible for hand trimming.
• -Responsible for seeding and sodding projects.
• -Responsible for cleaning and maintaining equipment and maintenance facility.
• -Performs any assigned duty before, during, and after an event.
• -Performs related work as required and as directed.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS

• -Knowledge of golf course and athletic field maintenance practices.
• -Knowledge of the occupational hazards and the proper use of safety practices.
• -Ability to operate various pieces of maintenance equipment.
• -Ability to understand and carry out instructions to complete work assignments correctly and efficiently.
• -Ability to perform manual labor, including standing, sitting, kneeling, and bending for an extended period of time, under various conditions.
• -Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.
• -Ability to work in all weather conditions, including heat, humidity, cold, rain, and snow.
• -Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and employees within all departments.
• -Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as required.
