Stew Leonard's is seeking an Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair store equipment as directed by the Facility Manager. You’ll complete PMs, diagnose issues, price parts, and keep repair logs. Heavy lifting and shop organization are part of daily tasks in a dynamic retail environment.

The role requires basic trades knowledge, familiarity with power tools and equipment like scissor lifts, and comfort with MS Office for record-keeping. This is a full-time, on-site position in Norwalk, CT.

• Vocational/trade school degree and/or 1-3 years of experience.
• Basic knowledge of equipment repair trades.

• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel/Word).

Equipment Mechanic/Equipment Repair

Full Time Hourly – Estimated pay range $21.40 to $27.29 depending on qualifications and experience

Must be at least 18 years and older

Position Description

As it pertains to the physical structure, equipment attached to said structure, and property, to maintain and repair the building’s equipment as directed by the Facility Manager under the guidance of the Sr. Mechanic. To complete assigned PM’s and repairs as capable independently, or while working as part of team. Accurately diagnosing, pricing out parts and equipment necessary for repairs. Maintaining an orderly shop, and general maintenance of work areas. Drain clearing and water jetting as necessary. Assisting with other aspects of the department as the FM sees fit.

Qualifications

• Vocational/trade school degree and/or 1-3 years of experience
• Basic knowledge of trades such as equipment repair
• Familiar with operation of power tools, and equipment such as scissor lifts
• Proficiency in the use of Excel, Word, Internet research engines

Your day-to-day

• Complete PM’s and repairs/projects as assigned by the FM with supervision as necessary
• Price out all repairs and maintain data logs of equipment repair history
• Shop maintenance and cleaning as necessary
