National Coatings Inc. is seeking an Equipment Mechanic / Shop Operations Technician to support our fleet, equipment, and daily shop tasks. You will maintain and repair small engines and painting equipment, ensuring readiness for field teams.

The ideal candidate has experience with airless sprayers, pressure washers, generators, and compressors, plus a valid driver’s license. Safety-focused, organized, and hands-on applicants are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of small engine repair experience.
• Experience with 2-cycle and 4-cycle engines.
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting.
• Hydraulic system knowledge.
• Generator and compressor repair experience.
• Possess / maintain a valid driver's license and meet company insurance requirements for authorized drivers.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain small engines and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on commercial painting equipment (airless sprayers, pressure washers, generators, compressors, etc.).
• Change oil, filters, spark plugs, belts, hoses and other wear items.
• Inspect equipment regularly and log repairs; coordinate warranties and parts ordering.
• Organize shop, warehouse, and storage areas; load/unload equipment and assist inventory counts.
• Deliver or pick up equipment; support project teams with equipment readiness; respond to field issues.

National Coatings is seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Equipment Mechanic / Shop Operations Technician to support our fleet, equipment, and daily shop operations. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing small engines and commercial painting equipment while ensuring the shop, warehouse, and equipment yard remain organized, safe, and operational. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-focused, and takes pride in keeping equipment ready for our field teams.

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain small engines and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on commercial painting equipment, including:
  • Airless paint sprayers
  • Pressure washers
  • Generators
  • Compressors
  • Power washers
  • Small pumps
  • Power tools
• Change oil, filters, spark plugs, belts, hoses, and other wear items.
• Inspect equipment regularly and identify repair needs before failures occur.
• Maintain maintenance logs and repair records.
• Coordinate warranties, outside repairs, and parts ordering when needed.
• Ensure all equipment is clean, functioning properly, and ready for field use.

Shop & Warehouse Support

• Organize and maintain shop, warehouse, and equipment storage areas.
• Load and unload equipment, tools, materials, and supplies.
• Assist with inventory counts and track equipment assignments.
• Receive deliveries and verify shipments.
• Prepare equipment and supplies for upcoming projects.
• Assist in maintaining fleet vehicles, trailers, and company assets.
• Keep work areas clean and compliant with safety standards.

Operational Support

• Deliver or pick up equipment, materials, and parts as needed.
• Support project teams by ensuring equipment availability and readiness.
• Respond to field equipment issues and perform repairs when possible.
• Assist with shop improvement projects and facility maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support company operations.

Requirements

Experience and Qualifications:

• 2+ years of small engine repair experience
• Experience with 2-cycle and 4-cycle engines
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting
• Hydraulic system knowledge
• Generator and compressor repair experience
• Possess / maintaina valid driver's license and meet all company insurance requirements for authorized drivers
