Job summary

Carrix, Inc./SSA Marine, Inc. is seeking an Equipment Mechanic to diagnose and repair heavy machinery and production equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and manage inventory while ensuring safety and efficiency across rotating shifts.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience with heavy equipment, a Class B license, and certification. You will work with tools and measuring devices, coordinate with vendors, and maintain logs and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, conveyor systems, and production machinery.
• Must possess a Class B license and a clean Driving Record (DVR).
• Medical Examiner's Certification required.
• Experience with power and hand tools.
• Knowledge of safety and accident prevention codes and regulations.
• Knowledge of parts and supply inventory management.
• Strong communication skills."
• Must observe all safety and health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintains machinery by completing preventive maintenance and repairs on engines, motors, conveyors, and production equipment.
• Locates sources of problems by observing devices in operation and using testing equipment.
• Controls downtime by communicating maintenance scheduling and techniques.
• Maintains relationships with vendors and service companies.
• Manages inventory levels and pre-orders parts to support maintenance work.
• Provides mechanical maintenance information and answers questions.
• Keeps a safe and clean working environment by following regulations.
• Maintains repair logs and adherence to maintenance schedules.
• Reports issues to the appropriate manager.
• Performs other related duties as required.
