Gulf Island is seeking a maintenance technician to repair and maintain engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulics, and electrical and pneumatic systems on a variety of yard equipment. The role requires reading service manuals, troubleshooting, and performing with minimal supervision.

Applicants should be able to climb and work around equipment, use a range of tools, and comply with OSHA safety rules. Outdoor work in varied conditions is common.

Qualifications

• Two years experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and accomplish work with minimal direction and supervision
• Read and understand service manuals and schematics
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electric, and pneumatic systems
• Operate mechanic hand, power, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical tools
• Adhere to all Company safety rules and regulations
• Climb and work in high areas and confined spaces
• Keep work areas clean and orderly
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor
