Job summary

Aleron is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician for a 200 mm semiconductor facility in Gresham, Oregon. You will perform preventive, corrective, and diagnostic maintenance on a range of tooling, ensuring reliability and uptime in a fast-paced cleanroom environment.

The role requires 2+ years in Thin Films tool maintenance, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to work night shifts with safety procedures. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Associate/technical degree or in progress.
• Minimum 2 years of technician experience in Thin Films equipment.
• Experience with AMAT/Novellus toolsets preferred.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose equipment performance and recommend reliability improvements.
• Dismantle, adjust and repair tools per specs and manuals.
• Use schematics and test equipment for calibration and repair.
• Develop and adjust maintenance procedures and specs.
• Lead or mentor junior technicians when needed.
• Coordinate with vendors and schedule tool qualifications.

Equipment Maintenance Technician (Thin Films)

Location: Gresham, OR (relocation package available)

Employment Type: Direct hire employee

Industry: Semiconductors

Compensation: $25/hour to $50/hour DOE, plus sign on bonus ($3,000 with Associates, $5,000 with Bachelors) plus shift differential

Schedule: Night shift D – Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, every other Saturday, 7 PM – 7:06 AM (15% differential)

About the Opportunity

As an Equipment Maintenance Technician within a 200 mm manufacturing facility in Gresham, Oregon, you will work in a dynamic team environment and perform preventive, corrective, and diagnostic maintenance on a variety of innovative semiconductor manufacturing tools. Each day you will be challenged by working on a diverse set of tools with a world‑class team.

What You’ll Do

• Utilize diagnostic equipment to monitor equipment performance, diagnose the root cause, and make reliability improvement recommendations.
• Dismantle, adjust, and repair equipment in accordance with maintenance specifications and repair manuals.
• Use schematics, hand tools, electrical gauges, and common test equipment for calibration, diagnosis, and repair of equipment.
• Drive solutions and guidelines, recommending and writing maintenance procedures and specifications.
• Perform scheduled tool qualifications.
• Vendor management and coordination.
• Opportunity to provide leadership to other technicians by providing training and mentoring.

• Work is performed in a cleanroom environment that requires wearing a smock, hood, booties, latex gloves, and safety glasses.
• May require the use of an APR (air‑purifying respirator).
• May require the occasional use of personal protective equipment, including but not limited to aprons, heat gloves, and full‑face masks.
• Requires standing for up to 75% of the shift.
• Requires lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• May require work with hazardous gases, chemicals, and voltages up to 1500 volts.

Job Requirements

What You’ll Bring (Requirements):

• Associate/technical degree or currently working towards a degree.
• Minimum 2 years of prior technician experience with Thin Films area equipment: AMAT Endura – both PVD/CVD (TxZ), AMAT Centura (HDP and DxZ), AMAT Producer (SACVD), Novellus Concept 2 (Speed, Sequel, and Altus).
• Methodical approach to troubleshooting and project management.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Self‑motivator; ability to work independently under general guidance and direction.
• Ability to independently learn systems and processes associated with the role.
