Job summary

Indotronix is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician in Rochester, NY for a 12-month assignment. The role focuses on preventive and predictive maintenance across blow molding and extrusion machinery, with hands-on electrical and diagnostic work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of manufacturing maintenance experience, with 2+ years on industrial molding equipment and PLC-related troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Minimum 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience working as a mechanic or Technician.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on blow molding, extrusion blowing, and injection molding machines and associated equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical systems, including motors, controls, sensors, relays, and AC/DC drives.
• Diagnose mechanical failures involving hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, pumps, and drive systems.
• Support troubleshooting of PLC-controlled equipment (basic fault tracing and component replacement).
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, ladder logic, and technical manuals.
• Maintain and repair HVAC and facility support systems as needed.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent repeat failures.
• Document maintenance activities and work orders in SAP, collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to improve equipment uptime and reliability.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on OEE, reliability, and process stability.
• Follow OSHA and company safety standards including LOTO procedures.

Job Title: Equipment Maintenance Technician

Duration: 12 months

This position is ideal for a mechanically inclined technician with strong electrical and diagnostic experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on blow molding, extrusion blowing, and injection molding machines and associated auxiliary equipment

Required Qualifications

Preferred: Minimum 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience working as a mechanic or Technician

Technical Skills & Experience

Preferred:

• Electrical diagnostics (120V-480V systems)
• Hydraulics and pneumatics troubleshooting
• Mechanical systems repair (bearings, belts, couplings, alignment)
• Ability to read and interpret electric and mechanical schematics
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• 2+ years’ experience working on molding machines
• Motor controls and VFD troubleshooting
• Working knowledge of AC/DC drives
• Experience with industrial automation systems
