Job summary

The Neil Jones Food Company is seeking a Seasonal Equipment Lubricator for our Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA. This role involves applying food-grade lubricants to equipment, adhering to lubrication schedules, and maintaining hygienic, safe manufacturing practices in a food-processing environment.

The position is seasonal, non-exempt, and union, supporting the fresh pack season typically July through early November.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in a manufacturing/industrial facility in the food industry preferred.
• Able to regularly lift up to 10 lbs; occasionally up to 20 lbs.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and work extended schedule, weekends during the season.

Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation’s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.

We are looking for a seasonal Equipment Lubricator to physically apply lubricants/grease to equipment in a timely manner following specific set up directions and schedules at our Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA. Understands food safety compliance, safe food handling and good manufacturing practices in a food plant. This is a seasonal, non-exempt, union position, supporting our fresh pack season, typically July – early November.

• Uses food grade lubricants/grease to apply lubricants/grease to assigned machines using lubing equipment.
• Follows a specific lubrication schedule; performs repetitive duties timely.
• Follows all procedures for a hygienic food manufacturing process.
• Ensures compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality rules and regulations within area of responsibility.

Requirements:

• 1+ year experience in a manufacturing/industrial facility in the food industry preferred.
• Constantly required to stand, walk; handling/grasping; fine finger manipulation; repetitive motion; speaking/hearing/seeing; vibratory tasks.
• Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.; occasionally pushes up to 20 lbs.
• Specfic vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and distance vision
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and work extended schedule, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically August to early November.
• Eligible for paid sick leave
