Job summary

Vertiv is looking for an Equipment Installer I responsible for quality installation of equipment in Data Center/Construction environments. This field-based role involves regional and occasional national travel with a focus on safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma, strong communication skills, basic computer proficiency, and knowledge of hand tools. Training in OSHA standards and physical resilience is preferred.

Job Description

An Equipment Installer I is responsible for quality installation of equipment in Data Center/Construction environments as specified in engineering instructions and drawings and in accordance with customer standards. This is a field-based position, requiring regional and occasional national travel.

Responsibilities

• Install equipment in Data Center/Construction environments
• On-site analysis of job drawings, specifications and MOPs
• Ensure quality installations by conforming to all applicable standards
• Perform all work with safety as the top priority. This includes following all company and customer mandated procedures as well as utilizing the proper PPE for the task at hand
• Maintain professional appearance and provide outstanding customer service
• Use computer for Data Entry/Administrative tasks
• Ability to pass background, drug, and motor vehicle screening

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong verbal, written and customer-facing skills
• Basic computer skills to include MS Office or equivalent
• Basic knowledge and skills with hand tools

Standard Training Requirements

• OSHA10 required, OSHA30 preferred
• Fall protection preferred
• Manlift/Forklift certification preferred

Physical & Environmental Demands

• Medium Lifting (30 Ibs. – 45 Ibs.)
• Heavy Lifting (over 50 Ibs.)
• Frequent Standing
• Frequent kneeling / crawling / stooping
• Frequent bending / twisting
• Frequent climbing (stairs, ladders)
• Frequent driving (car, van, truck)
• Noise Level (Medium / High need to shout to be heard)
• Working around moving machinery (fork-lifts, tractors)
• Protective Equipment Required (earplugs, gloves, eyewear, respirator, mask, etc.)
