Job summary

Vertiv is seeking an Equipment Installer I to perform quality installations in Data Center/Construction environments, following engineering instructions and customer standards. This field-based role requires regional and occasional national travel.

Responsibilities include installing equipment, analyzing on-site drawings and MOPs, ensuring compliance with standards, and prioritizing safety with PPE. Strong customer service and basic computer skills are expected.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal, written and customer-facing skills.
  • Basic computer skills to include MS Office or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge and skills with hand tools.
  • OSHA10 required, OSHA30 preferred.
  • Fall protection preferred.
  • Manlift/Forklift certification preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY

An Equipment Installer I is responsible for quality installation of equipment in Data Center/Construction environments as specified in engineering instructions and drawings and in accordance with customer standards. This is a field-based position, requiring regional and occasional national travel.


RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Install equipment in Data Center/Construction environments

  • On-site analysis of job drawings, specifications and MOPs

  • Ensure quality installations by conforming to all applicable standards

  • Perform all work with safety as the top priority. This includes following all company and customer mandated procedures as well as utilizing the proper PPE for the task at hand

  • Maintain professional appearance and provide outstanding customer service

  • Use computer for Data Entry/Administrative tasks

  • Ability to pass background, drug, and motor vehicle screening


QUALIFICATIONS


  • High school diploma or equivalent

STANDARD TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

The anticipated salary range for this role in the Illinois locality is between $55,000 to $65,000 per year based on a 40-hour work week—salary ranges for other geographic localities may vary.Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance and are role based. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to receive and/or participate in profit sharing, allowances, travel and/or car expenses, and earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization depending on the terms of the employee’s role and individual offer details. The role is eligible to participate in a comprehensive and competitive benefits program, including medical, dental, vision, disability, PTO, holiday pay, and 401k.
