The Equipment Finance Documentation Specialist II performs a variety of duties in support of Atlantic Union Equipment Finance ("AUEF"). The Specialist works closely with Regional Directors, the AUEF Credit team, internal department personnel, and external customers to complete tasks related to the origination and servicing of loans and leases. The Specialist II prepares documentation for equipment loans and leases and can work in a high-paced environment to process new customers and transactions, with a strong understanding of AUEF policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
Position Accountabilities
- Drive all steps of the closing process on equipment lease and loan transactions from evaluating documentation requests to booking/funding transactions.
- Understand various transaction and collateral types to determine required documentation and lien perfection methods, including UCC filings, titled vehicles, marine, and aircraft transactions.
- Maintain direct contact with customers, including CEOs, Presidents, CFOs, and Owners, demonstrating strong client-facing communication and negotiation skills.
- Negotiate documentation with customers and third parties such as vendors and landlords.
- Complete KYC/CIP/CBO processes for new customers and transactions to ensure compliance with banking regulations.
- Prepare loan and lease documentation to meet credit approvals, bank policies, and legal requirements.
- Review documentation for transactions purchased by the Capital Markets team from third parties.
- Collaborate with outside attorneys and customers in reviewing and negotiating loan, lease, and sale documents.
- Record transactions into the loan/lease accounting system.
- Work closely with Regional Directors, credit personnel, accounting, and loan services teams.
- Perform account maintenance and research as needed.
- Prepare post-closing loan packages, maintain files, and resolve exceptions and post-funding issues.
- Image or file financial statements and documents as required.
- Handle duties related to credit reports, insurance compliance, and other regulatory items.
- Determine when UCC lien searches are needed, order and review searches, and manage releases/disclaimers.
- Prepare tickets and wire transfers as necessary.
- Process draws, including title updates and inspections.
- Manage payments and advances on loans, prepare payoff quotes, and handle releases.
- Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations governing bank operations.

This position reports to the Equipment Finance Documentation Manager.
Position Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, banking, or related field preferred.
- At least five (5) years of experience in Equipment Finance within a financial institution.
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with loan/lease accounting software and loan modeling and pricing tools.
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Well organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Flexible, adaptable to change, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
