Position Information

This position involves working with heavy equipment. Applicants must have experience operating, maintaining, or repairing large-scale machinery from major industry manufacturers (e.g., excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, and similar types of heavy equipment).

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose diesel engines and related systems (brakes, transmission, electrical, hydraulics, engines, tracks).
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and filter replacements.
• Repair or replace faulty parts and conduct test drives to ensure proper function.
• Use diagnostic tools, adhere to safety regulations, and communicate with customers about necessary repairs.

Inspection and Diagnosis

• Conduct physical inspections and visual checks of diesel vehicles and equipment.
• Use diagnostic tools and computerized systems to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
• Interpret diagnostic test results to pinpoint the cause of malfunctions.

Maintenance And Repair

• Perform preventive maintenance, such as oil changes, filters and fluid checks.
• Repair or replace worn-out or damaged components, including engines, transmissions, injectors, and cooling systems.
• Address issues with critical vehicle systems like brakes, steering, exhaust, electrical, hydraulics.

Testing And Verification

• Conduct test drives to evaluate vehicle performance and verify repairs have been successful.
• Ensure emissions control systems and other components meet federal and state regulations.

Communication

• Consult with customers to explain detected issues and discuss repair options.
• Advise customers on maintenance needs and recommended repairs.

Safety And Organization

• Adhere to strict safety procedures and company policies while working.
• Use power, machine, and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Supervisory Responsibility: Individual Contributor.

Travel Requirements

This position does not require overnight travel.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Valid Driver’s License
• Must be able to drive company vehicles
• 1-3 years Equipment Repair and Diagnostics experience
• 1-3 years Equipment Maintenance and Repair experience
• 1 year of experience working in the field exclusively

Preferred Requirements

• Deutz engine maintenance and repair experience

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs at a time.
