Position Summary
You will serve as the MDPI Equipment Engineer, providing mechanical and automation expertise to support safe, reliable manufacturing. You will work closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Facilities, Automation and EHS to deliver continuous capital projects and day-to-day production support. Responsibilities
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:
Provide hands-on mechanical, instrumentation and controls troubleshooting on production equipment and peripheral systems.
Lead design, installation, commissioning, qualification and continuous improvement activities for equipment and automation.
Partner with cross-functional teams and external contractors to deliver projects on time, within scope and compliant with regulations.
Support investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment and process issues.
Mentor technicians and junior engineers, share best practice, and support capability development.
Contribute to equipment lifecycle documentation including FAT, SAT, commissioning records and validation deliverables.

This position is on-site in the United States. Hybrid or remote work is not available for this role.
Basic Qualification
We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years' experience in mechanical, electrical, automation, chemical engineering or related technical discipline; or equivalent practical experience supporting production equipment, automation or controls in a Pharma or Medical Devices regulated manufacturing environment -or-
AAS degree in Technical field (i.e. Industrial Automation, Electronics, Robotics) and 10+ years' experience supporting production equipment, automation or controls in a Pharma or Medical Devices regulated manufacturing environment.
Experience with mechanical and automation troubleshooting on production equipment.
Experience delivering equipment projects, installations or upgrades from design to handover.
Preferred Qualification
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
Experience in pharmaceutical, biologics or other highly regulated industries.
Knowledge of automation systems such as PLC, HMI, SCADA and MES and familiarity with related wiring, networking and instrumentation.
Understanding of qualification and validation activities including FAT, SAT, commissioning and testing.
Experience with computer system validation principles and regulatory requirements relevant to manufacturing.
Experience managing contractors, vendors and project budgets.
Strong written and verbal skills, with experience preparing technical documentation and reports.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical colleagues.
Willingness to work on the shop floor and provide practical, timely support to production.

GSK’s Zebulon site is a global supplier of Respiratory and Solid Dose medicines to patients around the globe and the largestGSKPharmaceuticalsecondary manufacturing site in North America.
