Job summary

Stellant Systems seeks an Equipment Engineer in Torrance, CA to design, modify and build specialized test equipment (STE) for high-voltage testing of traveling wave tubes (TWTs). You will collaborate with technicians to troubleshoot and maintain high-voltage supplies up to 60 kV and related test gear, while documenting designs and coordinating vendor support.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of electronic troubleshooting experience that includes designing and fabricating electronic test equipment.
• Experience in troubleshooting high-voltage power supplies (up to 60KV) is a plus.
• Strong analog-to-digital troubleshooting skills and proficiency with DMMs, oscilloscopes and power meters.
• Knowledge of data acquisition units, three-phase resonant conversion theory, PC-based controllers and network interfacing is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a team-first mindset.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and coordinate multiple tasks effectively.
• Ability to travel occasionally to vendor locations.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET) or equivalent experience.
• Applicants may be subject to a government security investigation for clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, modify and build specialized test equipment (STE) for TWT testing.
• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain high-voltage switching power supplies up to 60KV and related test equipment.
• Oversee design, documentation and fabrication of all Special Test Equipment.
• Collaborate with vendors in the test equipment design process and operate the equipment.
