Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all test equipment and electrical PPE, rental equipment, shipping, receiving and related tasks.
  • Liaise with local operations for equipment and logistics support.
  • Repair, calibration and procurement of test equipment; maintain records.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and asset health; manage Cheqroom database entries.
  • Arrange rental equipment from order through return; ensure cost allocations.

Job description

Equipment Coordinator

Schedule: Monday-Friday (weekends as needed)

Hours: Typically assigned 8-hour shifts between 7am-4:30pm

This position is responsible for coordinating all test equipment, electrical PPE, rental equipment, shipping, receiving and various responsibilities within Southern Power System’s operation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Electrical Test Equipment

  • Liaison of test equipment/tool/logistical support with local operations personnel.
  • Complete necessary equipment repairs, calibration and procurement functions.
  • Maintain repair and calibration records for all test equipment.
  • Effectively coordinate day-to-day equipment supply functions in support of all business units.
  • Responsible for monitoring the inventory accuracy, health and reliability of assigned assets.
  • Coordinate items in Cheqroom equipment database (Pool Assets and Employee Assigned Assets)
  • Coordinate rental equipment from order to return.
  • Procure new assets, record asset numbers and add them to Cheqroom.
  • Ensure accuracy of payments and billing cost allocation for test equipment and supply costs.
  • Coordinate Voltage Rated gloves and sticks exchange program.
  • Coordinate the weekly and annual test equipment inventory.
  • Coordinate inventory of PPE
  • Maintain communication with operations in support of their current and future equipment needs.
  • Interact with operations to continually improve services.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with local rental, repair, and supply vendors.
  • Train local personnel in equipment-related processes.
  • Assist in budgeting and long-term planning.
  • Check equipment function and software communication (as needed).
  • Take after hour calls for equipment issues.
  • Develop and support policies & procedures governing test equipment coordination with local operations.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety, environmental, regulatory, and organizational policies and procedures.

Shipping and Receiving

  • Oversee shipping and receiving process.
  • Organize and maintain warehouse equipment/material storage.
  • Create and receive Purchase Orders in Acumatica.
  • Purchase material inventory as needed (Consumables, Fasteners, Drill Bits, Blades, etc.)
  • Assist SPS Safety with the annual PPE truck and trailer restock.
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma; GED or equivalent.
  • Three years of test equipment-related experience preferred.
  • Customer service background.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of current trends and technological developments pertaining to test equipment and maintenance.
  • Excellent computer skills in most Microsoft programs including Word and Excel.
  • Must be highly organized, able to handle multiple tasks, and meet varying deadlines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift, push, pull and carry bulky objects and equipment ranging 40-50 lbs.
  • Ability to safely load/unload equipment, requiring bending, stooping, climbing ladders, and squatting on regular basis.
  • Capacity to push and pull heavy rolling racks, carts or pallets
  • Ability to operate a forklift which includes, high-level of spatial judgment to safely position forks under pallets and stack loads, exceptional situational awareness to spot pedestrians, narrow aisles and changing obstacles. In addition, the ability to hear back-up alarms, honking horns and verbal warnings over loud noises.
  • See (20/20 vision naturally or corrected), hear within normal range and perform repetitive motion activities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
