Job summary

Ponte Vedra Inn & Club in Northeast Florida is seeking a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Associate to maintain the beauty of the golf course and surrounding grounds. The role involves applying pesticides and fertilizers and ensuring safe handling.

Candidates should have a turf and ornamental license or be prepared to obtain one; valid driver's license; ability to work outdoors in all weather; elevate safety and recordkeeping of chemical use; on-site team environment with 401(k) benefits.

Qualifications

• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
• Experience with pesticides and fertilizers and safe handling.
• Must drive motor vehicles and operate sprayers.
• Prepare for and pass turf & ornamental license exams; renew license as needed.
• Maintain chemical room organization and daily records.
• Read, translate, and map pesticide routes.

Responsibilities for this Position

• Insure the continued beauty and growth of the grounds and golf course through use of pesticides and fertilizers.
• Experience working for golf course maintenance, to include work with pesticides and fertilizers, most knowledge can be gained in preparing for turf and ornamental license.
• A valid driver's license is required.

Job Requirements

• Follow all procedures for the safe handling of pesticides and fertilizers.
• Responsible for the organization of the chemical room.
• Responsible for the maintenance of the chemical daily records, to include what chemicals were used, how much, in what machine, and the weather conditions.
• Observe property for pest problems, identify, target, and treat.
• Become proficient on all appropriate equipment, including hand carried sprayers, self-contained sprayers, and tractor drawn sprayers.
• Learn how to read, translate, and map pesticide routes.
