Job summary

The Idaho Youth Ranch is seeking an Equine Therapist to support youth and families. You will conduct individual, group, and family counseling outdoors with horses, applying trauma-informed, evidence-based methods and ensuring accurate psychotherapy documentation.

The role involves age-appropriate assessments and may include evening or weekend sessions, with a strong emphasis on compassionate, client-centered care in a nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a human services field (social work, counseling, psychology, or marriage and family therapy).
• Licensed as LMSW, LCSW, LMAFT, LMFT, LPC, LCPC, or PhD.
• Valid Idaho driver’s license or ability to obtain within 15 days of hire.
• Be at least 25 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions.
• Utilize trauma oriented, evidence-based, age-appropriate techniques.
• Prepare psychotherapy documents with complete patient-care forms.
• Provide assessments aligned to age group and population; identify mental health issues.
• Occasional sessions in late afternoons/evenings or weekends based on client needs.
