Job summary

SCAD is seeking a dedicated equine groom to maintain the stable and assist barn staff. You will follow directions from the trainer, barn manager, and other equine care providers while administering medications and basic first aid as needed.

Responsibilities include unloading hay and grain, providing rations and water, monitoring feed and bedding, and handling saddling, grooming, bathing, and turning horses out to pasture or turnout. Weekend availability required.

Qualifications

• At least one year of relevant stable/yard experience.
• Ability to read, write and follow directions.
• Experience in care, feeding, and grooming of horses.

Responsibilities

• Keep the stable area neat and clean and follow supervisor directions.
• Administer medications and basic first aid as needed.
• Unload hay and grain, provide rations, water, and monitor stock levels.
• Saddle, unsaddle, groom, bathe, and turn horses out to pasture.
