Job summary

Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Lexington, Kentucky, seeks an Equine Anesthesia Veterinary Technician to join the Surgery team. You will support surgeons by delivering quality veterinary care, assisting during procedures, and helping with anesthesia management.

Candidates should have hands-on equine experience and anesthesia exposure; two years of equine work and one year of anesthesia are preferred. This is a full-time role with a sign-on bonus up to $1,000 based on experience.

Qualifications

• Two years of hands-on equine experience.
• One year of experience administering and monitoring anesthesia.
• Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.

Responsibilities

• Review surgeon schedules and assist with case load.
• Assist with surgery prep, packs, and sterile technique.
• Monitor anesthesia and patient during procedures and recovery.
• Maintain records of anesthesia, meds, and supplies.
• Ensure clean, organized surgery and recovery areas.
