Job summary

The YMCA is seeking a Barn Staff member for Camp KernOregonia, Oh. This part-time, non-exempt role supports the equestrian team by maintaining barn cleanliness, safety and horse care, including grooming, feeding and basic medical tasks.

You will help with trail rides for guests and campers and assist in keeping vet and farrier records up to date. Qualifications include being at least 16 years old and able to complete required certifications and trainings.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age to work in the Equestrian Department.
• Ability to complete needed certifications and trainings as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness, efficiency and safety of the barn and the overall care of the horses including daily cleaning, grooming, feeding and watering, as well as medical care and training.
• Assists in maintaining vet and farrier records.
• Communicates to Equestrian Director any concerns or incidents that may need follow-up.
• Assists with guest and camper trail rides
