EPS Design Engineer-KS

Location: Olathe, KS

JOB DIMENSIONS:

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, apply engineering principles to EPS product development and support projects; generate designs and drawings according to specifications; access ERP database for item/BOM info; utilize dashboards for progress tracking; perform related duties as assigned.

Reports to:

General Manager

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Outside Sales to review project specifications and confirm technical requirements.
  • Use AutoCAD to produce models, assemblies, and drawings.
  • Guide the development of engineering data for drawings and specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance in design, construction, and testing.
  • Assist in resolving quality control issues.
  • Assemble data packages with drawings.
  • Handle customer inquiries related to responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production control, and purchasing on order status.
  • Use Microsoft Excel for calculations and analysis.
  • Access inventory and production data via SyteLine ERP.
  • Generate procedures and test plans for product validation.
  • Coordinate project tasks and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain punctuality, attendance, and report absences per company policy.
  • Comply with safety guidelines and company policies.

QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES:

Any combination of experience and education, including:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Basic drafting skills and advanced drafting practices per Y14.5.
  • Experience with piping systems, valves, meters, and pressure vessels is a plus.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics in potable water systems.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and ability to generate drawings independently.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of computer operation, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.
  • Ability to read schematic drawings and perform mathematical calculations.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to interact with staff, vendors, and customers effectively.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and create manufacturable product designs.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design and data management.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).

Physical Requirements:

  • Operate office equipment and use computers for design and data entry.
  • Use hand tools for building and testing products.
  • Work indoors in a temperature-controlled environment.
  • Sit and/or stand at a desk for most of the day; walking and standing as needed.
  • Perform grasping, writing, sitting, standing, walking, and visual tasks.
  • Occasionally lift up to 15 lbs.
