Job summary

LayerZero Power Systems in Aurora, OH is seeking a Finishing Operator for an on-site epoxy/paint line role. You will prepare parts, apply coatings, monitor cure, and ensure finish quality while maintaining production efficiency and safety.

You will operate spray equipment and curing ovens, read work instructions, adjust line speed, document counts and material usage, and identify defects for corrective action, lifting up to 50 lbs and standing long shifts.

Qualifications

Experience in industrial finishing, painting, epoxy coating, or manufacturing preferred.
Basic knowledge of spray equipment, coating processes, or material handling.
Ability to read work instructions, production schedules, and safety guidelines.
Comfortable working with chemicals, heat, and industrial equipment.
Good attention to detail and ability to identify defects.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Operate epoxy or paint line equipment, including sprayers, dip tanks, curing ovens, and conveyors.
Prepare parts for finishing by cleaning, masking, sanding, or hanging components on the line.
Mix epoxy, paint, and coating materials according to specifications and safety requirements.
Monitor coating thickness, color uniformity, and overall finish quality.
Adjust spray guns, equipment settings, or line speed to achieve optimal coating results.
Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance on equipment, spray booths, ovens, and tools.
Inspect finished products using visual checks and measuring tools to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Document production counts, quality checks, and material usage.
Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of chemicals, PPE requirements, and environmental guidelines.
Identify defects such as runs, drips, fisheyes, or improper curing and take corrective action.
