Job description

The University of Southern California (USC), founded in 1880, is the largest private employer in the City of Los Angeles. As an employee of USC, you will be a part of a world-class research university and a member of the "Trojan Family," which is comprised of the faculty, students and staff that make the university what it is.

The Department of Neurology at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California seeks a full-time Neurologist with subspecialty training in Epilepsy. As an epileptologist you would become part of the USC Comprehensive Epilepsy Program, which is a Level IV Epilepsy Center. Our epilepsy program serves as a tertiary referral center for an extended network of hospitals in Southern and Central California, and a leader amongst epilepsy centers in the region through our USC Epilepsy Care Consortium.

Responsibilities include direct in-patient and out-patient care specific to epilepsy and epilepsy surgery, as well as continuous bedside video/EEG monitoring of patients in the EMU and ICU. Neurology faculty members are dedicated to training fellows, residents, and medical students at Keck School of Medicine. There are ample opportunities for translational research in the affiliated USC Neurorestoration Center.

Candidates must be Board eligible/certified in Neurology, have completed fellowship training in Epilepsy, and be eligible for medical licensure in the State of California. The position offers a competitive salary with excellent university benefits, and an academic appointment commensurate with experience and qualifications at the Assistant, or Associate Professor level at the USC Keck School of Medicine.

The position offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.

USC values diversity and is committed to equal opportunity in employment. Women and men, and members of all racial and ethnic groups are encouraged to apply.
