Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc., Rahway, NJ, USA, invites qualified graduate students to apply for the 2027 Summer Internship through the Future Talent Program. Interns work on real projects in BARDS Epidemiology and RWE Capabilities & Analytics, with opportunities to present work at internal or external forums and to participate in department meetings.

Primary duties include literature reviews, real-world data analysis, model development, results interpretation, and creation of visualization tools.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled graduate student pursuing a PhD or PharmD with relevant epidemiology training.
Must have completed at least 2 semesters of graduate work by May 2027.
Ability to commit to full-time 10–12 weeks starting May/June 2027.
Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Summarize background information via targeted literature reviews.
Conduct data analysis on real-world health data to identify data quality and patterns.
Develop and validate prediction models and interpret results.
Contribute to protocol development and manuscript writing.
Create and update visualization tools (dashboards, geospatial visuals).
Prepare materials to explain AI/ML methods and findings.
