Job summary

Virginia Department of Health is seeking an Epidemiology Program Manager to provide leadership for health information and training activities within the Office of Epidemiology.

The role oversees statewide epidemiology programs, collaborates with local health districts and external organizations on public health guidance and disease control procedures, and manages federal grant budgets and emergency preparedness activities.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of communicable diseases, public health surveillance, case and outbreak investigations.
• Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding disease reporting and control.
• Considerable knowledge of biostatistics, computer data analysis, and data management techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to develop program goals, evaluate effectiveness, and train and supervise subordinates.
• Comprehensive experience in epidemiology, public health, or related area with supervision or management experience.
• Considerable experience with public health emergency response and technical writing.

The Epidemiology Program Manager provides leadership for health information and training activities within the Virginia Department of Health's Office of Epidemiology.
