Job summary

California Rural Indian Health Board Inc. seeks an epidemiologist to engage in epidemiologic activities, analyze health statistics, and prepare comprehensive reports for the EpiCenter.

The role includes collecting data from tribal health programs, developing study designs, and disseminating findings to diverse stakeholders. Ideal candidates will have a public health background, strong writing and presentation abilities, and experience with SAS/SPSS/STATA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Communications, English, Health Sciences, or a related field required with at least 5 years’ relevant experience.
• Experience with research literature reviews and statistical software (SAS, SPSS, STATA) preferred
• Strong analytical and writing skills; ability to present methods clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develops project methodology and research design.
• Collects epidemiological data from Indian health programs and state health agencies.
• Stores and manages collected data.
• Performs analyses and writes analytical sections of study reports.
• Produces lay and technical health reports and presentations.
• Assists in budget development and grant writing as needed.
