Job summary

STI in Nashville, TN is seeking an ELR specialist to lead onboarding and maintenance of ELR processes using HL7 2.5.1. You will collaborate with Rhapsody developers to optimize routes and monitor production dashboards, ensuring timely issue resolution and data quality.

Experience with ELR onboarding/maintenance at state or local health departments, plus SAS/SQL/R coding proficiency, is essential. Strong communication and project management skills are expected.

Qualifications

• ELR onboarding/maintenance experience at a state/local health department (1–3 years).
• Experience with Rhapsody or defining specs for Rhapsody developers (1–3 years).
• Experience writing statistical/analytical code in SAS, SQL or R.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects.

Responsibilities

• Complete ELR onboarding using HL7 2.5.1 standards and monitor production tasks.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, manage alerts, and identify issues.
• Investigate ELR processing issues and propose solutions independently.
• Collaborate with Rhapsody developers to enhance routes for ELR processing.
• Assist with processing laboratory data via flat file format.
• Coordinate routine management of interoperability vocabulary in the system.
• Act as liaison to downstream users of ELR data within TDH and CEDEP.
• Support additional ELR maintenance tasks (validation, LOINC codes, production errors).

• Complete ELR onboarding using HL7 2.5.1 standards
• Provide input on and manage various production monitoring tasks including alerts, dashboard development and maintenance, and issue identification.
• Complete investigation of ELR processing issues independently and identify proposed solutions.
• Work collaboratively with Rhapsody developers to enhance existing routes or define new routes for ELR processing.
• Assist with processing of laboratory data submitted via our alternate file format (i.e., flat file).
• Coordinate routine and ad hoc management of standard interoperability vocabulary within the disease surveillance system.
• Act as liaison to downstream users of ELR data within TDH and CEDEP.
• Support other ELR maintenance tasks (e.g parallel validation, LOINC code assignments, and production errors).
