Job summary

Heluna Health and the Occupational Health Branch of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) seek an Epidemiologist to join the California Safe Cosmetics Program (CSCP). The role researches and analyzes data on chemical ingredients and exposures in workers and other consumers, and communicates findings to stakeholders.

This position is funded through 6/30/2028 with a salary range of $80,000–$100,000 annually, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Expertise in epidemiology, biostatistics, and public health; fluent with current statistical methods.
• Experience designing and conducting epidemiologic studies, ideally in occupational/environmental health.
• Ability and experience analyzing and interpreting complex data.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to convey complex topics to scientific and lay audiences.
• Knowledge of current developments in public health.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and work independently.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Leads projects; makes recommendations on methods and procedures for research projects.
• Collaborates with Program staff; may contribute to multiple projects.
• Conducts data analysis, interprets results, and disseminates findings in reports, webpages, or journals.
• Reviews literature to maintain and develop skills in occupational/environmental epidemiology and statistics.
