Job summary

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA) is seeking an Epic Informatics/BI Consultant for a contract assignment with a premier healthcare client. The role focuses on leading analytics development for the EHR system, gathering requirements, and delivering reporting solutions.

Remote work is aligned to PST hours. The ideal candidate holds Epic Clarity certification across modules, strong SQL skills, experience with Epic Tapestry, and deep knowledge of healthcare reporting practices.

Qualifications

• Epic Clarity Data Model certification in one or more modules.
• Experience with developing reports from the Epic Tapestry data model.
• 5+ years of experience in a healthcare-related organization.
• 5+ years of demonstrated expertise in MS SQL Server or Oracle.
• Strong SQL programming skills for MS SQL Server and Oracle.
• Knowledge of data warehouse concepts, data structures, and reporting.
• Extensive knowledge of SAP BusinessObjects architecture and capabilities.
• Extensive knowledge of healthcare reporting best practices, workflows, procedures and culture.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and metadata skills.
• Ability to translate business questions and requirements into reports and BI objects.
• Experience gathering, documenting, prioritizing and tracking requirements.
• Strong organizational and customer-service orientation.
• Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels and document issues clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of reporting and analytics for the EHR system by gathering requirements and delivering reports.
• Collaborate with BI Operations Manager and Enterprise Analytics Director on priorities.
• Perform in-depth investigation and documentation of future-state reporting specifications.
• Develop reports, views and BI query objects from business needs.

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Epics Informatics/BI Consultant for a Contract assignment with one of our premier Healthcare clients working remote PST hours.

Responsibilities

The Clinical Informatics Specialist is responsible for leading the development of reporting and analytics solutions for the firm's electronic health record (EHR) system by gathering business needs, documenting requirements, identifying appropriate data sources, developing reports, and delivering them to stakeholders.
The Clinical Informatics Specialist takes direction from, and collaborates with, the Manager, Business Intelligence Operations and the Director, Enterprise Analytics on work priorities and manages the resolution of escalated issues.
The Clinical Informatics Specialist will perform in depth and precise investigation and documentation of future-state reporting specifications and application reporting functionality.
The Clinical Informatics Specialist must achieve in-depth knowledge of relevant software applications as well as understand policies, procedures and constraints.

Required Skills

• Epic Clarity Data Model certification in one or more modules (EpicCare Inpatient, Hospital Billing, Prelude ADT, Radiant, Willow, or OpTime)
• Manager wants experience with developing reports from the Epic Tapestry data model
• 5+ years of experience in a healthcare-related organization
• 5+ years of demonstrated expertise in MS SQL Server or Oracle
• Strong SQL programming skills (MS SQL Server/Oracle platforms)
• Knowledge of data warehouse concepts, data structures, and reporting
• Extensive knowledge of SAP BusinessObjects architecture, functions, features, and capabilities
• Extensive knowledge of healthcare reporting best practices, workflows, policies, procedures, systems, and culture
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and metadata skills
• Ability to translate business questions and requirements into reports, views, and BI query objects
• Experience gathering, documenting, prioritizing, and tracking requirements
• Strong organizational skills and customer-service orientation
• Ability to recognize and evaluate problems and refer them to the appropriate channels for action
• Strong team skills, including active listening and rapport building
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to identify, document, resolve and/or elevate issues and maintain a complete issues log

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Quality Measures Reporting
• Epic build experience in a live environment — strongly preferred
• Epic implementation experience specific to clinical workflows and order management — strongly preferred
