Sun Automation is seeking an ERP System Administrator to lead design, delivery and improvement of the Epicor ERP system. The role requires extensive Epicor experience, strong SQL Server skills, and cross‑functional collaboration with business process owners.

Responsibilities include system modification, data conversions, disaster recovery planning, and security management. A Bachelor’s in IT/CS or related field is required, with 5–8 years Epicor experience and proven project management ability.

• Bachelor’s in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience managing Epicor manufacturing business systems (E10, Kinetic).
• Experience in modern database and application programming; strong SQL Server knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; proven ability to influence decisions.
• Demonstrated project management skills; SQL query and report writing ability.
• Creative thinking to conceptualize product and process solutions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the ERP system through modifications, updates, and new releases.
• Serve as point of contact to business teams and ERP users for troubleshooting.
• Diagnose, fix and prevent ERP IT issues.
• Collaborate with users to analyze, develop, implement and maintain processes.
• Manage data conversions, SQL databases, reporting and technical aspects.
• Implement tools for daily system monitoring and alarm responses.
• Tune the system to improve performance.
• Phase out manual spreadsheets and databases where possible.

Job Description

The ERP System Administrator will report directly to the Manager of Information Technology and will lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of the company’s Epicor ERP system. As part of these activities, the successful candidate will possess the experience, skills, diligence and desire to deliver cross-functional systems solutions, development, integration and application capability within an Epicor manufacturing business environment. Project management skills and experience will be crucial to the success of this position. Effective communication with the entire SUN Automation ERP user base will be necessary to improve current business processes and business requirements to better provide technical solutions that will allow the user base to excel.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain the ERP system through implementation of system modifications, updates, and new releases.
• Point of contact to the business teams and ERP users in troubleshooting system issues and processes.
• Diagnose, fix and prevent ERP IT issues.
• Collaborate with internal system users and business process owners to analyze, develop, implement and maintain new and improved processes and procedures.
• Manage data conversions, SQL databases, reporting, and all other technical aspects of the system.
• Implement and support appropriate tools that allow for daily monitoring of systems, timely, and appropriate response to alarms.
• Tune the system to maintain / improve performance.
• Assist with the upkeep and eventual phase-out of manual spreadsheets and databases to the extent possible.
• Manage ERP disaster recovery / business continuity – including regular disaster recovery tests to prove recoverability and to benchmark time to recover.
• Accountable for security at the system level and at the user level including setting up new users, determining and documenting appropriate permissions and approvals, basic login and navigation training.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5-8 years of Epicor support, and Epicor system report writing.
• Bachelor’s in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Experience managing and maintaining an Epicor manufacturing business system – E10, Kinetic.
• Experience in modern database and application programming, Epicor systems and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required; effective communication of complex concepts and ability to influence solution decisions.
• Demonstrated project management skills.
• SQL query and report writing ability.
• The ability to think creatively and conceptualize product and process solutions.
