Job description

The EPIC Trainer conducts technical training for end users of E.H.R (Electronic Health Record) software applications. This position develops and delivers learning materials, lesson plans, and online modules, instructor‑led training, and job‑aids organization‑wide. The trainer maintains and creates a schedule of training courses and conducts those trainings.

Required Skills

• Excellent writing skills and the ability to understand adult learning principles
• Critical thinking skills; must be able to make independent decisions and judgments based on processes, needs, and developments

Required Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Credentialed trainer in one or more EPIC module(s) appropriate to the area of training needs determined by PIH Health IT Department
• Within one year of employment, successful completion of the EPIC credentialing process, a teaching presentation before a panel, and a credentialing examination
• Minimum 3 years (analyst I) or 3‑7 years (analyst II) of experience working in a healthcare setting using EHR/EDR systems, facilitating training classes, or developing and presenting training curriculum
• Three or more years using the EPIC EHR system

Preferred Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Information Technology or a related field
• Clinical background and 4+ years of experience
