Patient Access Team - Remote position
The pay range for this position is $47.41/hr (entry level qualifications) - $84.42/hr (highly experienced). The specific rate will depend upon the successful candidate's specific qualifications and prior experience.
The Epic Technical Specialist designs and implements Epic features aligned with BSWH initiatives. This role requires understanding multiple Epic modules and collaborating with managers and partners. The goal is to align with strategic goals and maximize Epic's utility for patient care and administration. The Epic Technical Specialist also mentors analysts, supporting their development in problem-solving, project execution, and go-live activities.
Essential Functions of the Role
- Epic Systems Expertise: Serve as the main cross-application professional on Epic for a portfolio. Provide guidance for design recommendations, input on potential impacts on downstream modules, and perform complex troubleshooting.
- Solution Design: Collaborate with managers and teams to create and implement innovative solutions for the organization. This includes ideation, customization, configuration, and integration with third-party applications.
- Technical Consulting and Mentorship: Help analysts and portfolio owners with solution design and scoping calibration. Serve as a professional to validate enhancements and potential projects under the clinical team purview. Foster continuous learning and professional growth within the team.
- System Optimization: Proactively review technical setup for critical architecture and configuration. Provide optimization and improvement opportunities. Articulate the required effort and benefits of each potential improvement.
- Portfolio Health and Integration: Continuously evaluate and optimize new Epic modules and features. Improve efficiency, usability, and patient outcomes. Create business cases for new features for evaluation by operational leadership. When an Epic module does not meet current needs, oversee the integration of Epic with third-party systems. Ensure an optimal long-term approach.
- Play a dynamic role in project planning, execution, and go-live support. Ensure smooth transitions to staff responsible for maintenance.

- Must maintain Epic certifications. (Epic Cadence required).
- Able to quickly develop deep Epic application knowledge to build, test, support and train.

QUALIFICATIONS
- EDUCATION - Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
- EXPERIENCE - 7 Years of Experience
- CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Epic Certification (EPICCERT): Must obtain EPIC Certification within one year of hire or transfer to position.
