Job summary

Adventist HealthCare seeks an experienced Epic Inpatient Clinical Application Manager to lead Epic inpatient teams through implementation, optimization, testing, go-live, and long-term support in our Maryland operations.

You will supervise Epic analysts, coordinate with project leadership and vendors, and drive integrated workflows across departments to ensure clinical, regulatory, and operational objectives are met.

Qualifications

• Experience leading Epic inpatient implementations, upgrades, and go-live activities.
• Minimum 6 years in clinical or IT roles with EHR implementations.
• Minimum 3 years of management experience, leading application teams.
• Epic certifications and ITIL/ITSM experience preferred.
• PMI/PMP and Lean Six Sigma green belt preferred.
• Experience governance across multiple Epic modules and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead Epic application teams through implementation, optimization, testing, go-live, stabilization, upgrades, and ongoing support.
• Directly supervise Epic application analysts with assignments, performance feedback, and development.
• Coordinate activities with Project Director, operational leaders, technical teams, vendors, and training/testing teams.
• Oversee application support, upgrades, risk management, change control, and production readiness.
• Ensure build/design/testing readiness and effective cutover and deployment.
• Partner with clinicians, revenue cycle, and Epic representatives to meet clinical, regulatory, and operational goals.
• Develop team capabilities through mentoring, certification planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain expertise in Epic functionality and interoperability trends.

Support CenterIf you are a current Adventist HealthCare employee, please click this link to apply through your Workday account.Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Epic Inpatient Clinical Application Manager who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.As an Epic Inpatient Clinical Application Manager, you will:• Lead assigned Epic application teams through implementation, optimization, testing, integrated workflows, go-live planning, stabilization, upgrades, and ongoing support while ensuring project scope, quality, and timelines are achieved.• Directly supervises Epic application analysts, including work assignments, performance management, professional development, resource allocation, workload balancing, coaching, and hiring support.• Coordinates application activities with the Project Director, project managers, operational leaders, technical teams, vendors, training, testing, reporting, and other application teams to ensure integrated delivery across the enterprise.• Oversees application support, upgrades, and optimization, including issue management, risk identification, escalation, workflow decisions, change control, integrated planning, and leadership status reporting.• Ensures application build, workflow design, testing, validation, integrated readiness, cutover preparation, and production support activities meet organizational standards and Epic implementation practices.• Partners with operational leaders, clinical stakeholders, revenue cycle leaders, physician champions, subject matter experts, and Epic representatives to ensure application solutions support operational, regulatory, and patient care objectives.• Develops team capabilities through mentoring, performance feedback, certification planning, knowledge transfer, and continuous process improvement initiatives.• Maintains expertise in Epic application functionality, healthcare technology trends, interoperability concepts, implementation methods, and organizational priorities.Qualifications include:• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in information technology, healthcare administration, clinical informatics, business administration, computer science, nursing, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.• Minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in a clinical area and information technology, including electronic health record implementation, application support, clinical informatics, healthcare operations, or related healthcare technology experience.• Minimum of three (3) years of management experience preferred. Experience leading application teams, technical staff, or healthcare information technology initiatives is preferred.• Additional Epic certifications or proficiencies preferred• Project Management Professional preferred• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred• Experience leading Epic implementations, upgrades, optimization initiatives, and application governance is preferred. Experience supporting integrated workflows across multiple Epic applications and using IT service management practices is preferred.Work Schedule:Employment Type: Full-timeHours per Week: 40 hours/weekTypical Daily Schedule: 8 am-5 pm, Monday through FridayShift Type: Day ShiftHoliday Requirements: Follow the company holiday calendarAbility to participate in after-hours support, cutovers, go-live activities, and major-incident response as needed.
