Job summary

Prisma Health is seeking an Epic Trainer/Educator to deliver end-user training for EMR (Epic) and other corporate-wide systems. You will collaborate with Epic Analysts to keep curricula current and provide concierge support to physicians and clinicians.

Credentialing on assigned applications is required within eight weeks of assignment. Educators work with SMEs to extract updated information, participate in Epic implementations and system upgrades, and develop engaging training for individuals,

Qualifications

  • Education and experience in adult education or clinical training.
  • Two years as an educator or trainer in healthcare or education.
  • Experience with EMR training is preferred.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Responsible for delivering end-user training for all EMR (Epic) system applications, working closely with staff in order to develop competence in the use of clinical and business information systems. Responsible for creating and delivering end user training for corporate-wide system applications, such as Workday, Microsoft 365, etc. Serves as the primary educator and post-support knowledge trainer in various applications for individuals, groups and teams. Works closely with Epic Analysts to ensure curriculum is tested and updated timely and with high quality. Responsible for providing at-the-elbow (ATE) concierge service for physicians and, as needed/per special requests, other clinicians. Educators must acquire and maintain credentialing status in every assigned application they teach. Collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs) to extract updated information for curriculum development/enhancement and classroom delivery is a must. In addition to New Team Member education, responsible for Epic implementations/upgrades, system wide.

NOTE: Upon hire, educator must meet the recommended training requirements documented as Prisma Health and/or Epic’s best practice. Credentialing in assigned applications and other required administrative work and coursework must be obtained within eight weeks of assignment. Failure to do so could result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Essential Functions

  • Delivers end user training for all EMR system applications (New team members and implementations) and other organization-wide systems programs
  • Assists in auditing and enhancing EMR application curricula for new team member delivery.
  • Provides ATE training for providers and other appointed clinicians.
  • Collaborates with SMES in their assigned applications to ensure updated content and to enhance relationships.
  • Completes quarterly presentation audit of assigned applications with team.
  • Helps develop and deploy virtual and eLearning tips on assigned applications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibility
  • This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education - High School diploma or post-high school degree earned. Bachelor's Degree preferred - General Education, Information Sciences, Business Management, Training and Development, Clinical Informatics, Project Management or related area of expertise.
  • Experience - Two (2) years as an Educator or Trainer in adult healthcare or general education/training experience. Two (2) years in a medical office or healthcare facility training setting preferred. One (1) year of training on EMR preferred.
