Job description
Overview

Stocks bulk medical, janitorial, sterilization, and office supply. Receives all supplies purchased by purchasing manager and materials manager. Delivers supplies and equipment received to stock and patient care areas.

Responsibilities
  • Communicates by phone or in person with patient care staff and other in-house departments to access any changes or additional need for supplies
  • Maintains linen supply and stocks linen shelves
  • Daily follow-up of backorders, release dates, substitutions and discontinued products, forwarding information to using departments daily
  • Maintains adequate stock levels in assigned areas. Deliver and stock items daily with FIFO (first in, first out) rotation
  • Receives, inspects, verifies supplies and equipment purchased by materials management
  • Accurately receives and processes all purchase orders and packing lists
  • Works alongside team members to assure that invoices are correct for what was shipped
  • Conducts late afternoon par level analysis for next day
  • Maintains the computer inventory system in a timely and accurate manner and inputs locations, updates pricing, and bin labels in ENVI
  • Repairing and/or placing service calls for equipment and facilities, communicating with appropriate staff in facility about outages
  • Uses techniques to continually search for savings opportunities such as negotiation, substitutions, USPI and HPG contracts, USPI savings calls, other facility Materials Managers, and nursing care staff
  • Coordinates returns to vendor for credit
  • Rotate stock, clean and dust storage area
  • Delivers to and receives all inventory documents from departments related to quarterly inventory
  • Conducts quarterly inventory audits
Required Experience

High school graduate or GED certificate recipient. Training or courses in materials management
