Job description

About the Role

At Alluvial Concepts, we embed experienced Epic professionals directly into health system implementations to drive real, lasting change. As an Epic Applications Analyst, you will configure and customize Epic modules based on client workflows and user requirements — translating clinical and operational needs into precise system specifications that work in the real world.

Whether you specialize in ambulatory, inpatient, revenue cycle, pharmacy, or any other Epic application areas, you will be a trusted expert on our delivery team — working hands‑on through every phase from build and testing to go‑live support.

Responsibilities
  • Configure and customize Epic modules to meet client-specific workflow requirements, translating user needs into detailed system specifications.
  • Analyze current‑state clinical and operational workflows to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Design and document system configurations, build specifications, and workflow decisions for assigned Epic applications.
  • Lead and participate in working groups with clinicians, operations staff, and IT stakeholders to gather requirements and validate designs.
  • Perform unit testing, integrated testing, and regression testing to ensure system functionality meets design intent.
  • Support end‑users during build, training, and go‑live phases — including at‑the‑elbow support and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with Epic representatives and internal subject matter experts to align on configuration decisions.
  • Maintain thorough documentation for all system modifications, enhancements, and workflow decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to team knowledge‑sharing and professional development.
Key Skills & Attributes
  • Analytical thinking — you can break down complex clinical workflows and translate them into clear, configurable system specifications.
  • Workflow optimization mindset — you look beyond the immediate request to identify how processes can be improved, not just replicated.
  • Collaboration with clinicians — you are comfortable in rooms with nurses, physicians, and administrators, earning their trust through competence and communication.
  • Healthcare operations knowledge — you understand how health systems function and how system design decisions affect frontline care delivery.
  • Attention to detail and documentation discipline — configuration decisions are traceable and well‑documented.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritize effectively in a fast‑paced project environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Health Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
  • At least 4 years of hands‑on experience with Epic system applications.
  • Active Epic certification in one or more modules relevant to your area of expertise.
  • Experience leading workgroups and engaging stakeholders across clinical and operational functions.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as required by project phase.
What Sets You Apart
  • Proven leadership in change management or large‑scale Epic implementation projects.
  • Experience mentoring junior analysts or serving as a workstream lead.
  • Deep knowledge of Epic AURA, Care Everywhere, or laboratory workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity and deliver in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.
  • Strong communication skills with experience presenting to clinical and executive audiences.
