Siemens Energy is seeking a Lead Estimator/Proposal Specialist to join the US Technical Sales Team in Grid Technologies Services. You will develop bids for Electrical Substations EPC, maintenance contracts, and O&M, coordinating with account managers and business units to shape scope and strategy.

The role focuses on front-line, technical sales support for service bids, with travel as needed, and requires strong reading of specifications, bid writing, and cross-functional collaboration to win

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Science, Engineering, Business or related field
Electrical Engineering degree is a plus
8 or more years of experience in a similar function; seniority can adjust level

Responsibilities

Collaborates with Marketing to support Sales activities.
Collects VOC data to inform new product development and service offerings.
Ensures proper use of CRM-Salesforce.
Receives training on tools to work independently with minimal supervision.
Reads specifications for tender and writes proposals based on RFQ; enters opportunities into Salesforce.

A Snapshot of Your Day

We are seeking a highly motivated, well-organized individual to join Siemens Energy’s US Technical Sales Team within Grid Technologies Services. Our ideal candidate will have experience in Electrical Substations EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) and Turnkey proposals. The Lead Estimator/Proposal Specialist will work with Siemens Energy sales teams and customers to develop proposals for the Electrical Substations, Equipment maintenance contracts, Construction, and Operation and Maintenance contracts. This role is for a front-line, technical sales supporting Service bids/tenders/proposals/offers for EPC projects, mostly in brown field. Collaborate and communicate with Siemens Energy account managers, Business Unit Sales and other Siemens Energy Business Units to identify proper strategy and scopes of work. Our service offering centers around the transmission substation where we maintain key components within it, the entire substation itself and our substation turnkey business too. Such Services include but are not limited to; (i) GIS/AIS Substation EPC (ii) Transformer Maintenance (iii) Breaker Maintenance (iv) GIS/AIS Maintenance (v) LTSA for substation & their assets.

How You’ll Make An Impact

Collaborates with Marketing to understand and influence efforts to support Sales activities.
Supports leadership in the collection of voice of customer (VOC) data to help advance new product development, product upgrades/refreshes, and service offerings.
Ensures proper utilization of customer relationship management software (CRM-Salesforce).
The successful candidate will be trained on tools; to become independent and work with little to no supervision in the future. Effective communication with business development managers, Ops Manager, Service Engineers, is required.
Supports proposal team with reading specifications for tender, calculating and writing proposals based on RFQ received, entering opportunities into Salesforce. Works closely with proposal team and parts business.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Science, Engineering, Business or related preferred. Electrical Engineering Degree is a plus.
8 or more years of experience in similar job function. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa.
Proven experience estimating utility‑focused construction and service projects, including substation equipment.
Ability to review and interpret specifications, scopes of work, and technical drawings.
Strong written and verbal communication, with excellent time‑management and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams to develop competitive, winning bids, with solid understanding of business drivers, regulatory environments, and customer needs.

Travel, as needed (~15%), both domestically and internationally.
