Job summary

CSI Electrical Contractors, Inc. (CSI Electric), a subsidiary of MYR Group Inc., seeks a Project Controls Specialist to collect daily production data, validate invoices, and prepare cost-control reports for on-site projects.

You will partner with the Project Controls Manager and field teams to analyze productivity, costs, and schedules, ensuring timely and accurate reporting across solar and power-generation projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or Accounting/Finance.
  • Preference for Solar, Renewable Energy or Power Generation experience.
  • Solid understanding of cost control and project accounting fundamentals.

Responsibilities

  • Collect daily production quantities for project productivity tracking.
  • Collect daily manpower metrics with HR to monitor productivity.
  • Coordinate with on-site logistics for equipment and fuel data.
  • Ensure daily production entries are accurate and consistent.
  • Prepare and review production tracking maps with the Manager guidance.
  • Attend weekly and monthly reviews on progress, costs and billings.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This position is primarily responsible for collecting project data and preparing various daily, weekly, and monthly project cost control reports. Data collection will consist of project daily production, manpower and many other project costs. The Project Controls Specialist will be responsible for validating invoices against data collected on-site. The Project Controls Specialist will ensure accurate and timely collecting and reporting of all project data. The Project Controls Specialist will assist the Project Controls Manager with analyzing, forecasting and working on specialized reports as needed. The Project Controls Specialist shall work with and assist responsible parties to periodically validate project data.

Essential Functions
  • Project Controls Specialist (PCS) is responsible for collecting daily production quantities for tracking for project productivity.
  • PCS will work closely with the project Human Resource Administrator to collect daily manpower metrics for tracking of project productivity.
  • PCS will work closely with the on-site Logistics teams to collect daily information on equipment, fuel and other items.
  • PCS will work closely with the construction team to ensure daily production units are entered consistently and accurately.
  • PCS will create production tracking maps with guidance from the Project Controls Manager.
  • PCS will troubleshoot any issues the construction team may have with the daily production tracking maps.
  • The PCS must be able to manage relationships and coordinate with multiple on-site departments and fellow employees.
  • PCS attends weekly meetings with Project Controls Manager to review progress, productivity, cost, billings, and any other financial issues associated with their project and report material issues to senior management.
  • PCS attends monthly meetings with project/construction team at the project site to review progress, productivity, cost, budget, and reports results to Project Controls Manager.
  • PCS is responsible for ensuring that all Project Control’s deliverables are completed on time and that the frequency is as required.
  • Work with field engineers to ensure valid and accurate quantities are reported daily, monitor daily productivity and planned percent complete
ABOUT YOU
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Construction Management, Electrical / Civil / Mechanical / Industrial Engineering, or Accounting/Finance. Preference given for experience in Solar, Renewable Energy or Power Generation.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Mastery of Excel, MS Office, proficiency of Primavera and/or MS Project, Viewpoint, and document control programs.
  • Understands basic accounting principles, time and productivity management and administrative skills.
  • Good communication skills to deal with owners, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Possess a solid understanding of utility scale solar construction processes and means and methods.
  • Self-disciplined, motivated, able to work with limited direct supervision, self-sufficient problem solver.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
Physical Demands
  • Frequently works outdoors on uneven surfaces.
  • May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • May be required to stoop, bend, and crouch.
Work Environment
  • On-Site position.
  • Works in a climate-controlled environment at least 50% of the time.
  • When in the field, may work in varying weather conditions: hot, cold, and wet conditions.
  • When in the field, will work in areas with large industrial equipment subject to high noise levels.
  • May occasionally work in areas with hazardous chemicals.

  • Hourly Rate $28.00-$37.00/ hour (Non-Exempt)
    • Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. CSI reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the selected candidate's qualifications.
