Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is seeking an EP Technologist to assist with diagnostic and therapeutic invasive electrophysiology procedures, including cardiac device implantation, under supervision of the EP Lab Supervisor and the CV Services Director.

You will work with physicians and nursing staff, demonstrate knowledge of imaging, 3D mapping, patient monitoring, sterile technique, and data collection for outcomes and performance improvement.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Cardiovascular Technology or Radiographic Technology program OR Equivalent combination of education and 2 years clinical experience
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association BLS required within 30 days of start date
• ACLS Certification required within 6 months of start date
• RCES certification preferred
• 1 year of experience in a cardiovascular environment with competency in arrhythmia and 12-lead electrocardiography interpretation; or equivalent clinical experience as part of education

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of radiographic imaging, 3D cardiac mapping of electrophysiological pathways, patient physiologic monitoring and cardiac arrhythmia recognition and pacing during EP ablation procedures
• Complies with principles of sterile techniques
• Collects and assembles data for database, outcome analysis and performance improvement
• Responsible to carry out any other activities assigned by the supervisor to assure the department runs effectively and efficiently
• The EP Technologist Float in the Market Pool position provides care at both Overland Park Regional and Menorah Medical Center campuses, as determined by the Market Pool agreement and staffing assignments are subject to change based on facility staffing needs determined by EP Lab Market Manager and/or administration
