Job summary

Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs is seeking a Cardiology Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to guide patients through the full cardiology journey—from clinic visits to interventional suites and inpatient rounds.

You will perform pre- and post-procedure assessments, support interventional procedures, educate patients and families, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve excellent cardiovascular outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Active PA or NP license in Colorado.
• PA-C certification or NP board certification.
• BLS by American Heart Association.
• ACLS by American Heart Association.
• Prescriptive Authority in Colorado, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person patient care during cardiology clinic hours and interventional schedules on weekdays.
• Provide coverage for inpatient consults and rounding as needed.
• Conduct pre-operative/pre-procedure assessments, patient education, and post-operative management.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and care team regarding treatment plans and progress.
