East Hawaii Medical Group is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Cardiologist to expand the cardiac services on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi. The role involves evaluation and management of rhythm disorders, device therapy, and collaboration with the care team to improve cardiovascular outcomes.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree required.
  • Board certification in Cardiology or board-eligible status.
  • Fellowship training in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage patients with cardiac rhythm disorders, including AFib and VT.
  • Manage arrhythmia cases and implant devices (pacemakers, ICDs, CRT).
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and provide patient education on cardiovascular care.
  • Document encounters accurately in the EMR and participate in quality initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients with cardiac rhythm disorders, including atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular arrhythmias, and conduction abnormalities.
  • manage complex arrhythmia cases.
  • Implant, manage, and follow cardiac implantable electronic devices, including pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), and cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) devices.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, preferences, and medical history.
  • Provide patient education on cardiovascular and electrophysiologic conditions, lifestyle modifications, medication management, device therapy, and preventive strategies to reduce cardiovascular risk.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, including detailed history-taking, physical examinations, and advanced diagnostic evaluations.
  • Collaborate closely with cardiologists, hospitalists, primary care providers, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and ancillary services to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation of patient encounters, diagnostic findings, treatment plans, and follow-up recommendations in the electronic medical record system.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the continued growth of cardiovascular services within the East Hawaiʻi region.
Education & Training Requirements
  • Medical Degree (MD or DO)
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology
  • Fellowship training and BC/BE in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology
