Job summary

East Hawaii Medical Group on the Big Island of Hawaii seeks physicians to enrich our GI practice and enjoy paradise while delivering high-quality care. A strong endoscopic skill set with ERCP, EUS, luminal stenting, and mucosal resection is required.

Join a large, collegial team and help manage complex GI conditions, with a focus on patient-centered treatment plans and collaboration across departments in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree required.
  • Board certification/eligibility in Gastroenterology (BC/BE).

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced endoscopic procedures including ERCP, EUS, luminal stenting and mucosal resection.
  • Evaluate and manage patients with complex GI conditions such as pancreaticobiliary diseases and GI malignancies.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and medical history.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated care and accurate documentation in the EHR.
  • Maintain schedule and work-life balance as outlined: 7 days on, 7 days off.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work Schedule: 7 days on and 7 days off
  • Perform a wide range of advanced endoscopic procedures, including endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), luminal stenting, and mucosal resection.
  • Evaluate and manage patients with complex gastrointestinal conditions, including pancreaticobiliary diseases, gastrointestinal malignancies, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and other disorders.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, including history-taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, preferences, and medical history.
  • Collaborate closely with healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  • Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and follow-up recommendations accurately and timely in the electronic health record system.
  • Work Schedule: Seven days on, Seven Days off
