Job summary

LAUKOA is seeking an experienced EOD Training Specialist to provide on-site support at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. Responsibilities include developing and delivering EOD training, coordinating with EOD leadership, and maintaining training documentation and equipment.

The role requires 8+ years in EOD, a NAVSCOLEOD background, and the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance. Responsibilities also include creating training aids, operating within security protocols, and supporting range

Qualifications

  • NAVSCOLEOD graduate or equivalent.
  • 8+ years EOD experience required.
  • Knowledge of Air Force EOD functions and EODIMS familiarity.
  • Competent in 3D CAD/design, 3D printing, and machining.

Responsibilities

  • Develop quality training operations with EOD Training leadership.
  • Observe student training to refine course material.
  • Prepare instructional programs and materials.
  • Develop and select teaching aids and courseware.
  • Develop and manufacture UXO/IED training devices.
  • Maintain SIPRNET and EODIMS access for research on threat trends.
  • Support EOD training by ensuring adequate equipment and timely operations.
  • Set up/emplace training scenarios with inert UXOs/IEDs.
  • Follow DoW and AF safety requirements per DAFMAN 91-203.
  • Assist contractors and perform road guard duty during explosive operations.
  • Use explosive simulators such as Explotrain and Improvised Electronics.
  • Assist in CSTR training instruction as requested.
  • Follow security protocols for handling unclassified/classified information.
  • Other assigned duties.

Job description

Summary: This work is focused on providing Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Support to the 801st Red Horse Training Squadron at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. The work is on-site in Florida, with normal hours of operation shall be continuously from 0700-1600, Monday through Friday, unless otherwise stated to support specific tasks. Daily tasks may include but are not limited to scheduling and setup for EOD training courses and Combat Support Training Range (CSTR) training, training documentation, maintenance of EOD tools and equipment, maintenance of munitions accounts, equipment and munitions documentation, drafting plans and procedures, reviewing EOD technical reports and making recommendations to management, run unit "checklist", and ground and explosive safety requirements. The work location for this position will be at Tyndall AFB, Florida.

Job Description:
  • Develop quality training operations in coordination with NCOIC, EOD Training, on a variety of technical subject matter, including TCCC, EOD mission areas, and military tactics.
  • Observe student training during complex training scenarios and utilize observations to refine course material.
  • Prepare instructional program in accordance with training or other course requirements and assembling presentation materials.
  • Select and/or develop teaching aids such as Points of Instruction, Courseware instruction, wall charts, prepared notes, tape recordings, radio, television, films, film strips, and training handbooks.
  • Develop and manufacture Intelligence-based, real-world UXO and IED training devices.
  • Maintain SIPRNET and EODIMS access to research current threat trends.
  • Support EOD Section's ability to instruct, conduct range operations, and training requirements with adequate equipment within reasonable and required timelines.
  • Set up and emplace training scenarios involving inert UXOs and IEDs for EOD teams to respond to during training courses.
  • Comply with DoW, Air Force ground and explosive safety requirements IAW DAFMAN 91-203, as related to EOD.
  • Assist fellow contractors in fulfilling their responsibilities to support EOD and CSTR training. Perform road guard duty during explosive operations, ensuring unauthorized personnel cannot enter the range.
  • Utilize explosive simulators e.g. Explotrain and Improvised Electronics to simulate attacks during field exercises and training scenarios.
  • Assist in CSTR training instruction as requested by the unit in training.
  • Follow all applicable security procedures and training requirements to ensure proper storing, processing, and handling of unclassified, classified and /or Controlled Unclassified Information.

Qualifications/Experience
  • Must maintain a valid Driver's License
  • Must have the ability to obtain/maintain a Common Access (CAC) Card
  • Must have the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret Eligibility Security Clearance (eg. Tier 3 supporting investigation)
  • Must hold an Honorable Discharge if personnel are prior military
  • Must demonstrate the ability to speak in front of large groups
  • NAVSCOLEOD Graduate (DD214 and Graduation Certification Required) or equivalent.
  • Prior EOD with minimum Senior Badge
  • 8 years of EOD experience minimum
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of Flight-Level Air Force EOD functions with a desired level of increased knowledge in Air Force training and scheduling. Familiarity with EOD Information Management System (EODIMS).
  • Competent experience in 3D CAD/design software, 3D printing, and machining.
