Job Summary

Envista is seeking a talented and innovative Sr. Data Scientist to join our IT Data & Analytics team. This role requires a Data Scientist who can provide thought leadership and strategic direction on how artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) can be utilized to optimize various business functions. They will work closely with stakeholders using an agile project management framework to plan, design, and execute projects that leverage AI and ML technologies.

The Sr. Data Scientist will develop strategic capabilities in AI/ML, designing and implementing strategies to understand and impact business processes. They will partner with cross-functional teams to build operational AI/ML capabilities, define operating metrics, and enable predictive analytics. The role involves staying current with advancements in machine learning and framing business questions from a data science perspective to derive data-driven solutions. It also includes designing and applying advanced models in statistical analysis, bioinformatics, data automation, data mining, machine learning, and data visualization.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of AI, ML, and Generative AI solutions to automate and improve business processes.
• Collaborate with Commercial teams to understand their needs and provide insights to enhance sales and marketing strategies.
• Work with G&A functions (Finance, HR, IT) to identify opportunities for process improvements through data-driven solutions.
• Plan and execute the full lifecycle of machine learning models.
• Utilize tools such as Databricks, Python, Snowflake, and Tableau for data analysis, modeling, and presentation.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI, ML, and Generative AI, applying this knowledge at Envista.
• Develop and maintain documentation for data science processes, models, and algorithms.
• Provide training and support to team members and stakeholders on AI and ML technologies.
• Build an AI community at Envista to share best practices and drive adoption of data science methodologies.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience in AI, ML, and Generative AI models and technologies OR
• Master’s degree in Data Science with 10+ years of relevant experience OR
• PhD in Data Science with 6+ years of experience in advanced analytics teams at a Medtech or tech company.
• Proficiency in Python, R, or SQL.
• Experience with data analytics tools such as Databricks, Snowflake, and Tableau.
• Experience operationalizing algorithms into production systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Range: $96,300 - $178,900. Actual compensation depends on various factors including location, skills, experience, and organizational needs. Benefits may include bonuses, health benefits, 401K, and others.
