Job summary

Ace Hardware Home Services, Inc. is looking for an experienced HVAC technician in New Jersey to diagnose and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

You will sell repairs and replacements, assist in installation work, and communicate with customers and team members while using the company vehicle. The role requires strong HVAC knowledge, a minimum of five years in the trade, and a valid driver’s license with several years of driving experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in the trade.
• A valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of US driving experience.
• Positive attitude with respect for customers.
• Deep understanding of heating, AC, and IAQ equipment and HVAC system designs.
• Willingness to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose issues: no heat, no AC, insufficient cooling, unusual noises, leaks, etc.
• Sell repairs/replacements of furnaces, boilers, condensers, coils, humidifiers, water heaters, and related components.
• Assist in preparation and completion of installs you sold.
• Communicate with customers, coworkers, managers, and vendors.
• Maintain a clean, fully stocked company truck provided for home use.

Compensation Details: $26.00 to $34.00 per hour + bonus opportunities! Job Description: Now Offering Up to $6,000 Sign-On Bonus for Eligible Candidates!

What You’ll Do

• Diagnosing; No heat, no AC, not enough cooling, fan only, loud noises from unit, leaking around unit, etc
• Selling Repairs / replacements of furnaces, boilers, condensers, package units, coils, humidifiers, water heaters, circulators, zone controls, heat pumps, air handlers, etc
• Assist in the preparation and completion of Installs that you sold
• Communicating with customers, co-workers, managers, and vendors
• Maintain an orderly, clean, and fully stocked company truck of which you are provided to take home

What You Need To Succeed

• A minimum 5 years experience in the trade
• A valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of US driving experience, is required for this role
• A positive attitude with a willingness to treat our customers with the utmost respect.
• A deep understanding of heating, AC, and IAQ equipment and HVAC system designs
• Enthusiasm to learn and grow
• The ability to treat your time in our client\'s home as an invited guest.
• Ability to work late when the job at hand requires it

Physical Requirements

• Physically able to work on HVAC units.
• Will be required to work in settings with extreme cold or extreme heat, depending on time of year.
• Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, crawling, or climbing ladders.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
